new problem with Lexmark x73

I have the lexmark attached to my iMac 10.2.8. Lately it's been flashing the status light, insisting there's a problem the paper feed. There's no paper jam. Paper feeds fine when I turn the printer off and then on again. But just one sheet will go through before the status light will flash. I've tried unplugging the USB cord, the power cord, and rebooting the computer. Still the status flashes its green little light! What can I do to make the printer happy? It printed out just fine earlier today...
