Shared Partition - Format???

I have just started using SUSE Linux 10.1 and I want to be able to share all my Multimedia, Work and my Website between Linux and XP Pro.

My PC currently has

120GB IDE HD
- 80GB NTFS for Windows
- 40GB ext3 partition for Linux

My idea is to get a new 300 GB SATA disk to put all my shared stuff on as I trust SATA more than IDE however I do not know what format to use, I have read that Linux can be unreliable when writing to NTFS, however FAT32 restricts the maximum file size to 4GB which isn't enough for DVD Images, I do not know if Windows can recognise any other file system??

Thanks in advance,

Phil

Use ext2 filesystem and install an ext2 driver for Windows. I use this one: http://www.fs-driver.org/

apparently, your environment is Dual Boot, so the above is your solution.
if you had two/more systems, you would just enable SAMBA an let the
native system handle it all.

Thanks Nodsu!

I have ordered the new HD and it should be here in a couple of weeks (I skimped on delivery).
