SATA help

well i purchased a SATA hard drive T7K250 to be exact. and i wanted to make it my main hard drive and install Windows XP on it. so i put it in my computer and put the WinXP cd in and it says says checking computer compents ect... after you hit "anything" but then it goes black and i can hear my CD drive power down.

im at a complete loss on how to install winXP on it. and i know the hard drive works and i know the CD works so its not either one of those having a problem.

and also its a ASUS mobo. and i have no clue where to search for drivers for this sort of thing which might be my problem.
