Nope. God of War 2 will be releasing for the PS2 and PS3 so I don't see how the PS2 will be affected as such.

Considering that it has hardware similar to a $1500 pc, i find the size very practical.

Not really, since it costs around $75 a game. That makes it more expensive than that same PC with a couple of games.
