for some odd reason my vegas went from working completely fine, to now not being able to load and edit videofiles...

i get the error; The MSSQL$SONY:MEDIAMGR service does not excist or the current account does not have enough privilege to manage it..

then i get this; an error has occurred with the media manager, the feature will be unavailible. Media Manager initialization failed.

if anyone has any ideas, please let me know

Maybe you need to reinstall Vegas. I'm not sure what else could be the problem.
hoping to help

did you disable any services check ther for this service
when you uninstall make sure there is nothing left in reg
I think sony also has a tracker can't remem what it's called shhess

this sounds like a corrupt database

do search uninstall does not always uninstall
delete any files folders for sony
reboot befor new install

good luck

Sony does have that digital rights management software; howard_hopkinso helped me get it off my computer. I think some associated files are aries.sys and $sys$drmserver.exe. Just in case you wanted to know what it was called, Samstoned.
cheers
