what is .rar and how do I play these files?

Hello. I have a dilemma. I haven't got the slightest clue what .rar files are and I can't play them using any other means, i.e. Windows Media, Realplayer or Divx. What player plays these files and where can I find it?

It's a type of archive file, like zip files. You need to uncompress them ("unzip") using a suitable archive utility program.

Try Winrar.
