Should work plenty fine. Though the Core 2 Duo's are faster than the X2's.

The e6300 core 2 duo is $183 at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115005

The X2 3800 is $169. So for $14 more you could get a processor that blows the 3800 away. But, in general, your new comp should be pretty good. Just wanted to throw the Cre 2 out there as an option.

btw- what brand of psu are you getting?
