E-mail "spammers" who flood Internet inboxes with millions of unwanted, deceptive commercial pitches should face jail time as well as financial penalties, U.S. lawmakers and law enforcers said Tuesday.

CNN is running a story with the latest happenings regarding email spam (http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/internet/07/09/jail.spam.reut/index.html), a law against unauthorized spam is in the works now, some say it will work much like telemarketing does so you can opt-out and never be bothered again, otherwise illegal spammers may face a jail sentence of up to two years.

If you are up for a great read, we posted about this (http://www.oregonlive.com/business/oregonian/index.ssf?/base/business/105256787116000.xml) article a while ago "Confessions of a Former Spammer".

I've always hated e-mail spammers. It's illegal anyways. In order for them to send their "special offers" to our mailbox, we must agree.

I don't think anyone in their right mind would object to that.
