Access to specified device, path or file is denied

I have recently developed a new problem with all my CD/DVD drives. When I place a disk in any of them to try to play, I get the following message: Access to specified device, path or file is denied. Ideas?

I should have included that I am running Windows 2000 Professional. Thanks.
