Which Tech Sites Do You Visit

tkteo
07-16-2003, 01:59 PM
I am interested in knowing which 3 (or more?) tech-related sites you visit most regularly. For me, it's

Techspot
Anandtech
CNET

Used to visit Tom's and SharkyExtreme years ago, but not anymore. I still visit Tweak3D occasionally, but that's about it. By the way I am not counting clicking on links to other sites when I read news of interest to me on Techspot or Anandtech.

Looking forward to your replies.

Most of the time it's techspot.

only TS

any really important news are posted by our good fellows Julio, Thomas, Phant and so on, so it's enough to check TS to be in the move ;)

TechSpot, TechSpot and TechSpot..

After that comes The Register and Beyond 3D..
Sometimes I visit Rage3D, though mostly to find answers to questions on TechSpot... (And find out when the new Catalysts are released)

Techspot is has been my home page for 2 years.... If i go any where else its probably Toms hardware, Rage3d, and NforcersHQ...
Sometimes I visit Rage3D, though mostly to find answers to questions on TechSpot
AMEN Brotha... I really cant stand to read threw the forums there, you cant find any useful information because its all flaming... I feel bad for the guys at ATI (Catalyst Maker) that has to read some of those posts! Thank God this forum is moderated by mature people!

95% of the time I just browse TechSpot.

In the past I had browsed Rade3D some also, but due to lack of knowledge of the members there and the maturity levels of those members, and abundance of pointless posts I stopped.

I find www.anandtech.com has a lot of useful articles so I browse there some, although at the moment I don't participate in the forums or read the forums.

Hehehe.. I sometimes read Rage3d or nVnews for a laugh, due to the trolls running rampant...

What is the strangest to me is that some of the trolls actually got quite good knowledge about things, but can't seem to grasp that others do not...

But it's a nice place to find answers about ATI cards, and to see what Catalyst Maker & Co says...

But you got other ATI staff visiting B3D, so it's getting rarer and rarer for me to visit R3D....

Techspot
Tech Extreme
The Register
CNET
Mostly just techspot and Tech Extreme. Tech Extreme tends to lean toward stuff that doesn't get mainstream mention for a year or so.

I go to about 20 a day but the most read are...

Guru3D, HardOCP, nForcers, Techspot.

sorry, that's 4 sites but I had a hard time narrowing it down to less than 5.

We wouldn't want to share you with any other forum :D

www.hardOCP.com
www.anandtech.com
www.tomshardware.com
www.amdmb.com
www.hardwarecentral.com

Those are the ones I usually look through, but of course they often link to Xbit, ExtremeTech and many others ;)

IMHO, xbit used to be a much nicer/objectivewebsite when looking for news months ago, unfortunately I have noticed they have started to report a lot of trash (creating rumours themselves, completely unfounded 'news') for the extra exposure & traffic... pretty low.

Crybabytek
07-23-2003, 05:43 AM
Crybabytek, Google, Microsoft Tech, and where else? Hmm, now let me see...what is the name of that super tech site where all the really smart, erudite, congenial, warm and fuzzy people go?

Hmmm. Thinking. Hmmm.

Ah so. Eureka! Got it!

TECH SPOT!

After you've been to the best, why selttle for less? :-)

I regularly visit xbit, and its still a very good tech site, one of the best. It is true that they do report a lot of rumours, but in fairness, they do make it pretty clear when thats the case, and many real stories do start off as rumours. They also do some of the best technical reviews on the web, very thorough and completely free from any bias. Well worth a daily visit.

Other sites I view daily are ...

X-Bit Labs (as already mentioned)
TomsHardware
FiringSquad
TechSpot (for the forums as there aren't many reviews here)
Got Apex? (for the links to other web reviews)
TheRegister
TheInquirer
AnandTech

Those are the main ones, and I usually follow links to others.

TS | Julio: I like the new look for the forums. Nicely done, and very tastefull.

It would, of course, be far easier if you just used punctuation in the manner suitable for the English language.

But then, of course, there remains the task of sifting through your messy ramble of unconnected thoughts..... Ugh....

............dansdata.com.

Besides all the sites you've mentioned, dansdata.com has some nice articles to read. It's not updated very often anyways.

the only forum i write in is this one, other forums have some bad ambient and a lot of intel vs amd, ati vs nv and so on.

if i accomodated everyone's desire to be coherant? ;)
i post to amuse myself, primarily :grinthumb and, i glean great satisfaction in my attempts to assist other's, and be assisted (let's not leave that out) from other's that enjoy my segrergated approach to thinking..........being a poli sci major w/ an english minor, still doesn't preclude myself from my incessant ramblings on.....it is not my intent, to annoy, yet, i apparently do.......but, somewhere out there in the universe, there must be 10 billion chinese, who don't give a rip :grinthumb

i was just wondering if u were an adult or not....considering (no offence) your sentence structure is worse then my 9 yr old sisters ;)

lol, yah we can be buds :grinthumb (btw, why u stop changing the avatars? i like them changing)

he keeps track of the members, by their avatars.........i was creating a distraction (doesn't suprise me) :D
nonetheless, i've tried to abide by his wish....hear that, julio :grinthumb but, i was having fun, that you were enjoying my slideshow as far as you go, mr.y&w.......you can keep slappin' x around, cause he needs it.......hehe, lol x........but, i'll tell you, mr. he who is without sin, cast the first stone (as both of you two's spelling, and, sentence structure isn't out of roget's thesaurus, either).......so, don't start copping an attitude, or i'll slap ya down............hehe(i'd have used a smilie, but, i'm not allowed more than two in a post)

---agissi---
07-27-2003, 06:03 PM
I too do sorta "intergrate" peoples names with they're avatar. I see the avatar and think, o thats "bla bla", or whatever ;) Just easier then reading the names :P

---agissi---
07-27-2003, 06:07 PM
Btw I also forgot ;) How would u go about slapping me down? eh? eh! j/k with yah :) And the sentence structure isnt really based on the words you use, such as ones out of a thesaurus........its based on your grammer, punctuation, and where you place the verbs, nouns and subject your talking about. Looks like I actually have learned something in english class

JSR
07-27-2003, 08:15 PM
first of all........i was goin' to slap down young & wild...hehe...........not you, agissi............second of all, you are picking on a college graduate, with an english minor i've been kind enough..........not....to rip your grammar apart, as you continue to rip mine.....:grinthumb

one small example:..........."intergrate"..........it's "integrate"......i taught high school for 12 years..........including ....english;)
