i just installed 2142, i launch the game and i try to login in to my account, but 2142 doesn't detect my internet connection so it prompts me to play offline. then it cant find my account on my local machine or summit. thats because i only just installed the game and it isn't on my machine. how do i make 2142 detect my internet connection?

I am not sure but try alt-tabbing and see if theres a window security alert. Hopefully it can help you.

there is no windows firewall notice if i alt tab, and i checked the windows firewall exceptions and 2142 isnt even on the list at all. i think it might be under BF2 tho, which is allowed access.
