Best recommended antivirus program

Since I can't seem to find a recent thread on this, I'll ask it here. I have been searching the web for awhile, and I can't seem to come to a consensus on the best antivirus program. A lot of people say kaspersky, and I will admit, it looks pretty packed with features, also nod32. I hear symantec, mcafee, trend micro, etc are crap, while panda and bitdefender are "ok." any thoughts or suggestions?
