twite 01-21-2007, 12:10 AM Just curious, if the presidential elections were tomorrow, who would you vote for?
I know it is early to ask this, but it will be interesting to see your opinions now, and a year from now during the general elections.
Obviously this is hypothetical, and of course George Bush can't run again, but i threw him in their just to see if anyone would choose him
Tarkus 01-21-2007, 09:36 PM Why is George Bush up there?
twite 01-21-2007, 09:44 PM Read what i said
ravisunny2 01-22-2007, 12:12 AM Why is George Bush up there?
Tarkus has a point.
twite 01-22-2007, 12:20 AM Omg
Read what i said.

Would help if you read the post.
SNGX1275 01-22-2007, 11:04 AM I don't know much about any of them, and of ones that could run for president I've never heard them speak for more than a few seconds at a time on the news.
cfitzarl 01-22-2007, 04:13 PM You forgot to put in Mitt Romney, the ex-Governor of Massachusetts who just filed paperwork for a presidential run. And for the vote, I don't know yet.
twite 01-22-2007, 04:30 PM I would change it but i don't know how
BigKahuna 01-22-2007, 05:00 PM what about the ex mayor of new york rudy guilliani
twite 01-22-2007, 05:01 PM Thanks..ill put him up there to if i can figure out how to change it (if you can)
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 10:57 AM what about the ex mayor of new york rudy guilliani
He hasn't officially announced yet...also how can you vote for someone when you don't know all of the people that are going to run? You don't know their views (for the most part) yet, either. Many people vote by the person's personality and by how they speak (with the exception of "Dublya"). You can't do that. This is one of the main reasons that the founders of the United States government founded the electoral college.
twite 01-23-2007, 03:05 PM Half the stuff they speak of is just propaganda anyway. How much of the stuff they say is actually true? Probably about 50%. This is the point of this poll is to see who you would vote for without all the propaganda.
raybay 01-23-2007, 03:38 PM Still don't understand why you put George Bush on there... might as well put Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, too.
Worthless as it is... and not even interesting.

Precisely !
tipstir 01-23-2007, 05:16 PM None of them are any good anymore... I say bring back George Washington and Abram Lincoln. We have the techology let's just clone the good ones and make this country shine again...

It's hypothetical It is "if he could run for a third term". Wow you are all making a big deal out a very small "issue".
None of them are any good anymore... I say bring back George Washington and Abram Lincoln. We have the techology let's just clone the good ones and make this country shine again...
Hmm..
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 08:35 PM I ask again, how can you vote when nobody has officially "run" yet? No points have been made people! Even if say, Mitt Romney, my governor until January were to run (he most likely is, he's filed papers), I wouldn't immediatly vote for him if I liked him as governor. No one knows the profile of every person running, and even it one does, there are still people who might run that we don't know about yet. For instance, John Kerry is thinking (I get all the news about him, he's my junior senator) about running.
DivineMeia 01-23-2007, 08:42 PM Hillary Clinton. Definately. We all know she ran the country while Bill was president, and "he" did a fine job. Lowered the debt, kept foreign exchange at a good rate, and kept us out of war. So I think she'd do pretty well.
Plus, I'd love to see a woman president, and I can't stand Condoleeza, so... =)
twite 01-23-2007, 08:42 PM cfitzarl
This is not the real deal. I'm guessing you already knew that. This an internet forum, not you local poll station. One word
HYPOTHETICAL
You are all over analyzing this. (well some at least)
cfitzarl, don't get me wrong, i understand what you are saying, but this is the point of the poll. If i wanted to do the poll after the general elections next year, i would have done it then. I was just curious what peoples opinion was in general, before all the propaganda, and before all the commercials spiting each other about irrelevant issues. Please, if you have a problem, just simply don't take part.
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 08:56 PM We all know she ran the country while Bill was president, and "he" did a fine job
I realize that this thread is hypothetical, but I had to say something about this. Please give to me, pure evidence that clearly identifies Hillary Clinton telling William how to run this country. Please do not make facts about opinions.

Sorry, I realize that. I just get very, very "into" things like this. I even have my own country at Nation States (www.nationstates.net). I had to post the above though...
BTW, I voted for Stephen Colbert ;).
This is a good example of one of my countries; The Republic of Political Peoples (http://www.nationstates.net/political_peoples)
Here is a...umm...other example: The Federation of Trans-Socialist Power (http://www.nationstates.net/trans-socialist_power)
Please note that these are not necessarily my point of view on a government ;)
DivineMeia 01-23-2007, 08:59 PM Well, it was an opinion, based on the fact that I believe he was a bit more... preoccupied... with another agenda. I strongly believe however that she was his backbone as a president, and I think she would do well on her own as a president.
What I still have to wonder is... would that make Bill the First Lady?
o.O;;
twite 01-23-2007, 09:05 PM would that make Bill the First Lady? :haha:
cfitzarl
I understand, I see where you were coming from.
BTW, I voted for Stephen Colbert
Haha.. i was going to vote for him but i had to vote for Obama. I love Colbert, i probably would vote for him if he ran.
DivineMeia 01-23-2007, 09:07 PM I honestly don't follow politics well enough to debate about them anyway. I don't even know who Obama or Stephen Colbert are. >_x;
twite 01-23-2007, 09:10 PM I honestly don't follow politics well enough to debate about them anyway.
I guess that explains your Clinton theory ;)
DivineMeia 01-23-2007, 09:12 PM Doesn't it though? Haha. I do know a few facts about his presidency... but I stray away from politics. It's all slander. Let's all be communists!
...just kidding. Communism never works. There will always be people fighting for power.
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 09:16 PM Socialism, the government formation, under which communism is classified, looks very, very good on paper (I don't know about Marxism though, I read about it but it was very confusing). Everything is equal, and whatnot, but it has been proven not to work after the downfall of the USSR (Not Russia, Russia fell in 1917 and was re-founded in 1991). The only exception is China, and they still battle constant problems with censoring. Just look at North Korea and Cuba, just look at their economies, the quality of life there, and other factors that are considered when judging a country. Sorry for writing so much, I just love politics...
BTW, you shouldn't say something like that in such neglect, I'm sure you would never say that to my Russian friend would you?
DivineMeia 01-23-2007, 09:21 PM I meant no harm in what I said. And I definately didn't mean it in neglect.
I apologize if I offended you in any way... Just making a harmless joke.
twite 01-23-2007, 09:21 PM Anyone watching the state of the union address? Pretty funny to see the faces on the Democrats when Bush says something like "we will balance the federal debt". "We will fix Medicare and save social security". That's what hes been saying for 6 years now. It's horrible, they should ban clapping, plus it makes it like 2 hours longer.
adhama 01-23-2007, 09:51 PM I commend you for putting fourth the question. But historically you forgot Mickey Mouse.
twite 01-23-2007, 09:54 PM I commend you for putting fourth the question. But historically you forgot Mickey Mouse.
:haha: haha
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 10:01 PM I'm watching it, and George has a lot of good points. I'm neither a democrat nor a republican (I feel that I still need time to find out). There is a lot of good I could say about the USA's Figurehead, and there is some bad too. We can't judge a president until about 20-25 years after he leaves office anyway.
twite 01-23-2007, 10:07 PM I'm watching it, and George has a lot of good points.
I completely agree, he has some excellent points, but it doesn't mean he will go through with them.
We can't judge a president until about 20-25 years after he leaves office anyway.
Thats if the world still exists then ~nuclear winter~ "cough"
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 10:13 PM Lol, did anyone notice (my) Senior Senator Ted Kennedy nod off? Was it just me? After a minute he touched his glasses but was still looking down like he was sleeping. It seemed too low for him to be reading as well.
twite 01-23-2007, 10:16 PM Haha..I didn't notice it, but a alot of people were doing some weird stuff. Cheney kept on bending over for some reason, and Mccain and Rice looked like they were daydreaming.
cfitzarl 01-23-2007, 10:21 PM I noticed Cheney doing that too. Condoleezza kept frowning, and some others were doing the same.
twite 01-23-2007, 10:36 PM I still can't get over how ridiculous it is that they clap every time he says something. It gets so annoying.
SNGX1275 01-23-2007, 11:05 PM What irritates me is I felt like I paid more attention to the speech than anyone that was there in person. We elected a lot of those people, why the hell can't they pay attention for LESS THAN 1 HOUR, it not even a continous hour, they get applause breaks. Every one of them that screwed around or daydreamed during that speech needs to be kicked in the nuts and or removed from office.
twite 01-23-2007, 11:12 PM So true.
Every one of them that screwed around or daydreamed during that speech needs to be kicked in the nuts and or removed from office.
lol..i would love to see that happen
kicked in the nuts
Whata bout condo rice
SNGX1275 01-23-2007, 11:19 PM She and Cheney probably get a little leeway because they likely had direct input on the speech and knew every word he was going to say. But those elected people out there in the audience...
twite 01-23-2007, 11:28 PM I was referring to her gender.
kicked in the nuts
But I'm still oblivious on her gender anyway.
So maybe you could kick "her" in the nuts.
The speech in itself is pointless anyway, they had no real reason to pay attention.
It was more or less bush talking about stuff that will never happen, to get some sort of trust back from the American people.
I almost feel sorry far the guy, he's so far deep i don't think he will ever get back up, but then again he dug his own hole.
This is a good example of one of my countries; The Republic of Political Peoples
Here is a...umm...other example: The Federation of Trans-Socialist Power
Those are pretty well thought up, although i don't think i would want to live in the second society.
Whats up with the furniture restoration stuff lol
cfitzarl 01-24-2007, 12:49 PM I have no idea, it's randomly generated :) . You answer a few questions and it sums up what the country would be like if it were real.
riverwind 01-24-2007, 02:43 PM Barack Obama 08' all da way
cfitzarl 01-24-2007, 03:05 PM I haven't really studied him, I know he's a Democrat, but how far down the left-side of the scale is he?
twite 01-24-2007, 04:32 PM He's pretty far left, but those are usually the ones i support. Hes no Joe Lieberman. He's an absolutely phenomenal podium speaker, and is a very straight forward, "honest" man. Of course that is my opinion, but i think about 90% of Illinois will back me up on that.
cfitzarl 01-24-2007, 09:56 PM Thanks, I'll further look into his views (i.e. war, democracy, etc). I just noticed that Stephen Colbert is up there with 15%!
twite 01-24-2007, 10:38 PM I just noticed that Stephen Colbert is up there with 15%!
:approve:
I anticipated Obama and McCain to be in the lead, but i honestly didn't think Clinton would get any votes..interesting.
twite 02-01-2007, 10:16 PM Who the hell voted for bush???:o (rhetorical question)
ravisunny2 02-02-2007, 10:45 AM Hillary Clinton. Definately. We all know she ran the country while Bill was president, and "he" did a fine job. Lowered the debt, kept foreign exchange at a good rate, and kept us out of war. So I think she'd do pretty well.

Why not invite the German lady. She clobbered Condo..

What ever happened to Paul Simon ? He seemed to hold a lot of promise.
Now that George had done the dirty work, the scalp hunters move in for the spoils.
How many Presidents have done better in their second term ?
Should a second term be allowed ?
twite 02-06-2007, 09:02 PM How many Presidents have done better in their second term ?
Should a second term be allowed ?
Depends on the president.
Some i would say no *bush* cough. But others i would love to see them run for 4 terms. So i guess 2 is a good number.
