Like many other WinAMP lovers, I never really switched to version 3. Although I did give it a try back then, I was very dissapointed by the sluggish program it had turned into, the cool skins did little for me, I wanted performance.
You may have heard of the WinAMP 5 (http://www.ntfs.org/comments.php?catid=1&id=7533) project that was started just after 3.0 release, supposedly combining strengths from both releases, the guys over at NTFS got a copy of an early Alpha on their hands which is available for download here (we just know how you enjoy running buggy software ;)).
And speaking of beta downloads...
Cerulean Studios, developers of Trillian, recently made available a new Beta (http://www.ceruleanstudios.com/trillianpro/index.html) version of the IM program for registered users only however.
Opera browser 7.20 Beta 7 (http://my.opera.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=28384) is now also available for download.
