i just got oblivion from the elder scrolls series and my friend said you can have a type of in-game relationship. is this true?

Yes I believe you can have some sort of relationship, like a girlfriend or something... I know you can get groups of people to follow you around and help you fight

Like if you join the mages guild and become leader you could get a few mages to help you out :)
