computer keeps turning off, + more problems

hi everyone

i have a few problems at the moment with my computor

first of all and most annoying of all, the computor keeps on shutting down suddenly without any warning or anything, sometimes only moments after windows loads (even twice while i have been trying to write this post).

the second problem is that occasionally the screen will suddenly go blank, before re-appearing again distorted in what looks like lines running verticly down the screen, and freezing the computor.

the last problem, is that all the time now, if i run windows for a little bit of time, e.g. five minutes, then after that, it will not load any other programs when i try to, including virus scans, programs in the control panel or internet explorer.

my computer has an Intel Celeron 2.4 GHz proccessor with about 500Mb of RAM (it won't let me load 'system' to see exact ram or proccessor speed).

Can some one please help me?

EDIT: i forgot to mention that it is doing this, even though i re-installed windows just yesterday, and when i installed there is a program call VIA RAID tools that wasn't there before, and i don't know what it is

EDIT2: well it has been 20 minutes since i tried to load some things on the computor, and everything that i tried to load just loaded at once....so i don't know what is happening with my computer...
