I voted for SNGX because well he's smart. He is often rude, but only because he's smart.

Howard IMHO is the coolest moderator.

You forgot Julio.

He tends to be rude. ;)

That is very true. Julio sometimes goes overboard in rudeness, but is awesome none the less.

I myself try and stay as neutral as possible.

I voted Nodsu, I really love to read his posts!

I would go easy on any flaming though. Flaming someone (even in fun) is never a good thing.:hotbounce

Nick, I voted SNGX. But now that you mention it......its about a tie I think.

It was a tough choice for me also. Both give very informative yet humorous responses.

There is a difference between witty and arrogantly rude, again not saying names.

I chose Howard due to his impeccable selfless example of how a techspot mod should conduct business....And as mundane as he can be he offers a little humor here and there :D

Yes there is a difference, but then rudeness comes in varous shades.

Sometimes a mod needs to be pretty direct. This isn't the same as "arrogantly rude".

Of course Howard is the impeccable gentleman, but there already is a tribute thread.

But since I only want smart people votes, all stupid people will not be able to select my name....

Phant and Poert, you guys missed the perfect chance to win this thing outright, if you would have just edited the poll to give yourself say 25 votes. Even if people caught on, it would have still been a 'witty' move that would have secured the win.

Every one in the poll list is a mod. So, I guess it could be a free for all.:suspiciou

Is there any one to edit a poll to allow for multiple choice ?:blackeye:

kitty500cat
06-04-2007, 02:06 PM
I think the only way to have it multiple choice is to specify that in the making of the poll. I had done that one time and then after posting the new thread realized that that doesn't make any sense. I had Howard delete that poll and I started over.

I have to admit being a bit bemused by this topic. If my PC were in flames in the middle of my office and I was posting for instructions as to how to best use my fire extinguisher, I am not sure that I would appreciate the odd 'bon mot' along with the technical advice. :-)

howard_hopkinso
06-04-2007, 03:21 PM
This is just a lighthearted thread and is of no importance. However, a little humour here and there is never a bad thing in the right circumstances.

If you had any serious problems and posted in the correct forum, I doubt very much if anyone here would be likely to make light of it. ;)

I don't care a whit for being witty on TechSpot!

Especially if the advice was RTFM.

Nodsu
06-06-2007, 02:14 PM
Actually, RTFM would be the most appropriate answer, since there are many different kinds of fire extinguishers and the quickest way for the user would be to look at the bloody obvious pictures printed on the thing :)

Even the Yahoo Slurp Spider is wittier than most of the members on your poll.

If you changed it to "Who do you laugh at most ?" then your selection is about right.

That would be precisely the reason you wouldn't get any advice without it. Put it out the same way you would put out a campfire with the Boy Scouts.

I voted for Phantasm because the thought of Darth Vader seeking approval simply blew the absurdity meter right off the dial.

It was difficult making a list. So I just put in ten mods.

Otherwise captaincranky would definitely have been on the list.
