Opera settings are screwed up.

I have been using Opera as my internet browser fro about a month, here recently I noticed that it wasnt opening .pdf files properly. I noticed that it was opening them with opera instead of Adobe so I changed the "open with" to adobe. It didnt work and now when I open the browser within about 2 or 3 seconds it opens a whole bunch of new tabs (all of the pages are blank) and eventually I get an error message that says "file not found" and it stops opening tabs. I cannot browse at all with opera anymore and cannot figure out how to change this setting back. Does anyone have any ideas for me or am I going to have to re-install? If I click on help or anything web related it opens about another 50 tabs really quick and gives me the same error. Here is what the address bar reads:

"file://localhost/C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Michael/Application%20Data/Opera/Opera/profile/cache4/temporary_download/default%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%2 0(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1 )%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%20(1)%2 0(1).htm"

I have never heard of anything like this, hopefully someone can offer me some help.

Delete the C:/Documents and Settings/Michael/Application Data/Opera/ folder.

You make a copy of the C:/Documents and Settings/Michael/Application Data/Opera/Opera/profile/opera6.adr file if you want to keep your bookmarks.

If I follow the path that you listed, there is no Application Data directory.

It is hidden. Configure Explorer to show hidden and system files.

Heh, yea I am an idiot and that worked. Thanks for the help. So do you have an explination to what happened?

Somehow, your Opera settings got corrupted. Could be a bug in Opera or Windows or your antivirus or whatever.. If it doesn't happen again, then just think of it as a glitch and blame sun spots :)
