I have Adobe Reader 8 installed on my system and recently i noticed that this Adobe Speed Launcher file (reader_sl.exe) was added to startup. I'm not sure what it does, i tried to click on it but nothing happened. In any case, i'd like to take it out of startup, i already have more processesthan i'd like to, is it ok to take it out? And any idea what it does and why it was added to startup/

It is supposed to open and close reader files faster I think.

So if i remove it from startup it will just open and close files slower?

Just in case, you may want to try this one:

Best way to speed up the latest version of Acrobat is not using it.

It seems like a good utility, it is small and doesnt take up a lot of system resourses and does pretty much what Adobe does, i wonder why i never heard of it before. Thanks for the link, Julio.
