Hi.
I have the DELL Inspiron 6000.
Does anyone know which driver will put the volume display on the screen?
When I hit volume up/down/mute it used to display on the screen, and I did a clean install of Xp Professional.
Here are the DELL drivers. I just want to know which driver will give me back the on screen display. THANK YOU!

Go to Dell's website and check all the software that is available for your specific laptop model, that worked with my Thinkpad when I went to clean install with a Vista upgrade.

What is it you want on the 'screen' - a shortcut or what?

I want the volume display.
When I hit the volume buttons on the front of my keyboard, a volume bar used to come up on the screen and show the volume going up or down.

Aha! Sounds like you may need to configure your keyboard - did it come with a driver package?

It is on the front of the keyboard...so even when the laptop is shut it is still there. They keys arent a part of the keyboard

So now I know it is a laptop also - GREAT!
Looking at those Dell drivers descriptions, and actually reading them, the Dell Quickset seems to possess the means to work the volume.
You read it and see.
