AMD Turion64 upgrade to Turion64 X2 TL-50?

I have a HP dv6000z notebook with a AMD Turion64 cpu and I was wondering if it would be logical and possible to replace it with a Turion64 X2 TL-50 dual core mobile? All my research says I can, but I want to be totally positive because I'm poor and I have to save all the money I can.

Also, is it a easy install? I'm not familiar with notebook hardware.

Thanks!

Ok, thanks! I just bought it.

Will it make much a difference in speed replacing a 2GHz & L2 Cache of 512 KiB single cpu with a 1.6GHz & X2 L2 Cache of 256 KiB dual core cpu?

well, your games won't run faster. but such soft as autocads, 3dmax, maya, and other professional software will run much faster.

The only game I play is Battlefront II, which runs fine on what I have.

I run programs like Ableton Live 6, Photoshop CS2, and Sonar 6. I don't know if those are considered professional progs.

The dual core only cost me $30.00, so not something for me to get worried about.

photoshop CS2 supports dual core processing.

Is it a downgrade for everyday processing?
