Hi, I would appreciate any help with my query. I have just bought an ADVENT 8117 laptop and it is making a constant crackling noise when on. Is this normal, i never noticed it on my old laptop. Any help would be very much appreciated.

The solutions I`ve seen include getting the latest audio driver;

probably from HERE (http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false) if it`s a Realtek/Azalia

and going into the the Sound card settings panel and making sure there are

no special effects enabled (party,big hall etc.)
