hey I have my friends HP Laptop Because I change the time but when I restart the last time I manually changed the time shows the incorrect time I changed the bios time to but it doesn't count the second while in bios it stays still any help would be much appreciated I have looked on google and thats where a found a suggestions about the bios.

I`m only guessing here, as I`m having a hard time fully understanding your post.
Maybe the cmos battery needs replacing?

Well sorry but Basicly when ever I restart it will go back to 12:04 last time I changed the time on it.

Yes, that sounds like a cmos battery problem to me.

send it back. it can be as CMOS battery, and it can be southbridge faulty.

Don't waste any more time trying to fix as you may well put the warranty status at risk. It may well be either a motherboard fault or CMOS battery failure; whatever, it is a warranty matter on a new machine.
