Help with Toshiba Laptop

My toshiba laptop won't turn on...a little background. It was working just fine, sitting at the kitchen table, walked away for a minute and the cat decided to walk across the keyboard. Now...it won't turn on...lights are on for battery. When power button is pressed...it turns on for 3 seconds then light goes out..... Help!!!

Hmm... okay, this is an interesting one. Darn those cats, always walking across keyboards.

Okay, so what model is it? That's my first real question.

And if you haven't tried already, unplug it from the power cord, remove and reinsert the battery, then plug it in and try to turn it on. If that doesn't work, then the model number would be useful.
