After the latest update for Vista my CS has been acting funny. Before this CS was working fine on my PC. But now when I open CS the menus are all messed up (see pics posted) and when I am in-game it is impossible to play. I uninstalled Steam and CS (multiple times) and reinstalled both (multiple times) and still have the same problem. I have checked out my drivers and I have everything up to date. I don't know if the Vista update and Windows updates caused a change in CS. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. Can anybody help me?

160G HDD
Graphics Processor: Intel GMA 950
OS: Vista Home Basic

ok after messing with my PC i got this message:

"HalfLife FileSystem_Steam Error:
SteamMountAppFileSystem(10,0,0x14a7fd64)
failed with error 1 : The registry is in use by another process, timeout expired."

*note- i have some freeware registry cleaners but they never show anything about any HL, Valve, or Steam registry problems.

any suggestions?

Me thinks your video card may be breaking, or it could be you need to go back to Windows XP. It's none of my business, but why did you install Vista?

i bought a new PC that had Vista on it.
