Hello everyone,

do someone know a procedure to remove de bios pass on a thinkpad t43 ? I've seen this procedure http://sodoityourself.com/hacking-ibm-thinkpad-bios-password/ but i'll rather hear from you guys first, instead of tweaking the chip.

If someone knows about a pass software like the dell latitude one or similar i'll thankyou a lot.

Cheers.

the T43 password removal can only be doing using special i2c programmer. there are no master passwords for these laptops.

The article(s) and the method look OK.. There is no way of knowing that this works with all motherboard and firmware revisions of course. As you can see from the comments, people have different chips in different locations with the password stored at different memory addresses.

No, there is no easier way to do this. IBM standard procedure is to replace the whole motherboard.

Nodsu, did you see, that there's list of models till model t43. that's because, that there's another way to remove passwords from models beginning from t43, and this way isn't applicable to old models of IBM laptops. there's NO 24rf08 eeprom on the T43 MB!

If you follow the links in the comments, you find http://www.allservice.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1061#1061

As I said, the very method for unlocking is valid. How do deal with any specific model is a different matter.
