Illustrator help

Hi All

I keep getting an error message when trying to place Tiff image files into an illustrator document. The error message is "Not enough memory to load the Tiff file". I am running XP pro with 4 gig RAM, could XP's RAM limitations be causing the problem (Page File usage in Task Manager shows 592mb!)?

Thanks in advance

Anybody else had this kind of problem with Illustrator?

I'll take the complete lack of response as a no then!
