Can Someone please tell me how i can get a copy the linux Os.
I have been trying for a while now to find one, but my efforts have been proven to be futile.

How were you messing that up? In any case, first result on that page is worth taking a look at. The 4th link, Ubuntu, is probably where you'd want to begin your linux endeavour.

You can request a copy of Ubuntu from Canonical for free {it will take a few weeks generally} - if the 700Mb Download is too big. https://shipit.ubuntu.com/
