integrated_circ 02-18-2008, 08:05 PM look for a chip on the motherboard with the number 24 on it and make a short on the chip this will remove any password on the market
integrated_circ 02-18-2008, 08:07 PM Do not short out any eeproms just find the integrated circuit chip with the number 24 on it and make a short on this chip as passwords are not stored in the bios chips !!

If you do not know what you are talking about , how about shutting up! The newer models use a 25 series Chip which does not respond to the shorting, a fact that I have posted a bunch of times
alidabiri 02-18-2008, 09:11 PM try this one:
www.password-removal.com
alidabiri 02-18-2008, 09:24 PM you need an eprom reader. a deviced that i have assembled. please p.m. me.
alidabiri 02-18-2008, 09:28 PM to read the eeprom chip, you need a second laptop and an electronic circuit that can read the SDA and SCL legs of the chip. try this one:

alidabiri 02-18-2008, 09:37 PM Can anybody guide me how to unlock my dell D520 laptop which my cousin by mistake set a power on password and could not tell the right password.

Guys,
there are 3 kinds of passwords:
1) power on password (pop). this password can be reset by unplugging the cmos battery for a while, and plugging it back in.
2) supervisor/bios password (svp). this requires reading the eeprom chip (8 leg or 14 leg) with an electronic device by using another pc's serial port. (p.m. me on this one).
3) hard drive password (hdp). this is usually tied to svp, but not all the time. it requires special software and a library of known manufacturer's password. but can be cracked either recovering the data or wiping the data.
I hope someone can help me, I have read through all the forums for info on the subject and have tried everything, but still no joy!
I bought the Dell Latitude LS400 a couple of years ago on ebay without a HD, I then installed a 40gb Seagate HD with XP and everything worked fine untill last week. I rebooted the machine and that's when it failed to reboot, instead giving me the blue screen and asking for the "HD1 Password". After 3 failed attempts it asks for the "HD1 Master Password".
I have never set any passwords and why did it work for so long without asking for this info? I tried Dell and they won't help unless I give them the previous owners details, which I don't have anymore. Will I be able to get the info from this HD if I connect to my main PC through an external casing and how would I get past the Admin password?
Dell service tag 5D3B00J-D35B
Express service code 116-755-240-51
Bios version A05
Model number PP01S
I have tried Latitude MasterPW, but the code generated is not accepted.
Any help would be appreciated, I just need to get my info from the HD!
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 05:09 AM If you just want your data from the HD and don't care to take it any further then you can likely just connect the HD to another machine and browse the drive that way assuming it doesn't prompt you for the password.
You can also try running Knoppix (ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/knoppix/KNOPPIX_V5.1.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.iso) which is a Linux based LiveCD. Should be able to copy your files over to another storage device connected to the system using this.
Thanx, will try that! How do I bypass the Admin password that's on there?
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 05:49 AM Check out Ophcrack (http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/)or the services provided by this (http://www.loginrecovery.com)site.
Versus77 02-19-2008, 08:45 AM Hello everyone,
I got a Dell D620 with service tag HH5LL2J-595B last year. The admin password was set. I cannot change any setting in CMOS. I badly need a master password to unlock it? Is there anyone to help me? Any help is appreciated? Thanks in advance.
mscrx 02-19-2008, 08:50 AM if you need the password for the bios config/admin/supervisor pw go here (http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic97328.html) and read.
you will find alot of information around this using the forums search function! please read before posting questions that have been answered alot of times!

I rebooted the machine and that's when it failed to reboot, instead giving me the blue screen and asking for the "HD1 Password". After 3 failed attempts it asks for the "HD1 Master Password".
the hdd password for dell laptops specially the old one do not come out of nowhere. either you set it or someone else set it for you.
if you get a blue screen it is not the dell internal password protection. this one is usually gray/white screen.
so 3rd party software? if you don't know and nothing about it is shown it will be hard to help you!
Will I be able to get the info from this HD if I connect to my main PC through an external casing and how would I get past the Admin password?
well, if it was the dell password protection (gray/white) screen for the older models it works to just put the disk in a different computer. best would be a non-dell computer. I would give it a try anyway
post back if you meant something different!

I did not set any and I'm pretty sure no-one else did as I installed the new HD and loaded XP. I mainly used this for work and only had Office 2003 and Norton Systemworks on the machine, the main program I used was Outlook

The background is black and the text box requesting the HD1 Password is blue. At this stage I just need to get the .pst file with all my emails.
mscrx 02-19-2008, 01:37 PM thats definitively not the dell password protection. so it has to be a 3rd party software and that usually means somebody installed something. anyway give it a try and put this hdd to another computer. if you're lucky you can access it. if not you need to find out which software has the black and blue screen and how to remove it.
maybe its a seagate tool?
I wish I could but I have to say sorry can't help you with that!
demonseed 02-19-2008, 08:40 PM I have a Dell Latitude D610. I managed to get passed Bios password only to locked out by the HDD can any one help PLEASE.Hard-disk #**35AF8108T-595B
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 09:52 PM Is it not your PC? Why was there a BIOS password that you didn't know and why do you need to bypass any other passwords?
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:02 PM I got it 3rd hand Friend of a friend that locked it up by mistake unnone to me why they just didnt just call Dell. they sold it and my friend gave up on it and now I have it.
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 10:05 PM If it's a hand-me-down system you are better off just re-installing Windows.
Check out Ophcrack (http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/)or the services provided by this (http://www.loginrecovery.com)site.
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:25 PM Yea I want to do a fresh install but the laptop has the hdd locked not windows.
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 10:34 PM Ah, I see...
Check out HDD Unlock (http://www.hddunlock.com/)...
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:38 PM How do I use this program if I cant Boot up the PC?
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:47 PM See when I power PC bios boots then it goes strate to white screen says
Dell Inc.
www.dell.com
Hard-disk#**35AF8108T-595B. The sys Primary HDD is protected by authentication system.
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 10:47 PM Read the site's FAQ (http://www.hddunlock.com/support/faq/). You will attach the drive to another PC.
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:50 PM So Ill have to get some kind of adpter for the laptop HDD?
demonseed 02-19-2008, 10:52 PM Im still not sure its the HDD giving me the lockout I think its the DELL
Zenosincks 02-19-2008, 10:59 PM Not sure what you're suggesting, but I'd bet that the HDD is locked and the site I provided can likely help you.
Your laptop should conform to the same industry standard HDD interfaces a desktop would. Check your BIOS and see what kind of drive you have. All the information you need is likely provided by the site I sent you to, check there for answers to your questions.
mscrx 02-20-2008, 03:30 AM the only way to check what drive he has is to plug it out. if you do not enter the correct password 3 times you will be sent to the bios screen and no hdd will be displayed. thats for all dell computers the same.
it is possible to attach the drive to another pc. best option is a non-dell one. I have seen this working and you might get your data off the drive but it wont change anything if you want to reinstall windows on this drive.
you have 4 options here:
1. call dell and request unlock
2. try the shorting method - works for d610 and should remove the hdd password as well
3. wait here for a password (I think there are alot of peeps waiting and most of the offers here are paid offers)
4. buy a new drive and don't waste your time....
cheers

you are wrong with service tag, LS400 without any D35B.
possibly your hdd may just failed.
but you can try to go into bios setup and look for HDD Master ID, this ID can be used to calculate the hdd master password.

choose the cd, floppy or usb version. depends on what you can boot the laptop.
if you cannot boot any of this devices try to hit f12 during the dell post screen. this should open the one time boot menu from where you can choose other boot devices.
good luck
Still have this Dell 700m with a bios password and I'm almost ready to throw in the towel and pay Dell obscene money to unlock this thing..
DST CD: Since there is a password on the BIOS I am unable to boot from the CD.
Even if I try to press F12 for boot options it starts to go into it and then the little blue password screen appears again..
Does anyone know a key to hold down to make it boot from the CD, say for maintenance reasons? Or for a factory reinstall? Or just anything helpful actually...
Thanks again,
DT
I did download the CD image you posted the link to..Could be for future use, or nothing. Who knows.
Still in the same boat, I

I read on seagate site that some drives when they fail/corrupt sometimes think they have a password.
Seagate utils should fix it or RMA it with them.
Just an idea
