Shorting procedure works fine on Latitude D510.
Take a look at http://www.download.centre4service.com/software1.html and read the guide of Fastback68

"There is an easier way of sorting passwords on d620 i hit on it yesterday after days googling and searching this forum and it worked first time."

And you are keeping this secret because... ?
What, pray tell, is the "easier way of sorting passwords on D620..."?

The solutions vary dramatically from model to model. Using the fix for one series will likely not work on another.
We have chewed through this many times before.
Read all the forum messages on Dell passwords, which you can find with searches. There are perhaps 800 altogether.
Since there is only a Config password problem, perhaps somebody knowledgeable on that Latitude will see your message and post a response.

Hi everyone,

I was trying to delete my HP Omnibook XE3 BIOS password by changing it to blank (using<ENTER>), and I was locked. I tried the old password, <ENTER> and all the keys around <ENTER> key, but no success.

I am not expert with jumper and BIOS battery manipulation. The laptop is old and it does not worth spending money to fix it.

Would any one kindly help me with this problem? I found in this forum that some guys can help with a password that can unlock it. I got the hash code and it is 13053.

Please help me if you can.

Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,

Can anybody tell me if the shorting method will work on the Latitude 131l?

I have seen the recommended site download.centre4service and their recommended link to spunlock.
I know my neighbour is now willing to pay to have the bios password removed if the shorting method does not work on his lappy and he is thinking about using spunlock, has anybody used them or heard about them?

Thanks in advance

Yesterday I cleared the biospassword on a HP nx9010.
When the notebook starts it prompts for a password.
Leaving this empty doesn't work and the old password doesn't work either.

Can someone give me a masterpassword?
Hashcode of the system is 13533

Thanx

Received a Dell Inspiron B130 laptop that the customer doesn't know the internal hdd password and can't get to boot it. I've tried all of the passwords for Administrator, etc and family names but can't get in. Is there a backdoor way to delete the password? Dell service was of little help (none).

I hope someone can help me, I have a Dell inspiron 6400 and the mobo was dead. I bought a used mobo and now it will start up again but stops at the password menu.

Dell Netherlands won't help me because I don't now the first owner of the laptop/mobo, it came from a company that is now out of business and the owner is nowhere to be found. He bought the laptop in person so it must be on his name.

Can someone help me with my password problem?

Hello,

I just purchased a D620 and I get the Grey Screen asking for the password. The Serial is #DZGM4D1-595B. I have looked at all the forums and it appears some of the passwords were able to be created but if anyone knows how to get the master password for this it would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all.

I have been bequeathed a broken laptop (D400) with a system password on it (thats a system password, not a BIOS one) which I have been using as a pet project to see if I can get past the protection. Now I know that you can use the Master_PW.exe program for the 35b tags (or whatever they are. I forget now) but not the 395b tags. (mine is #4H9D21J-595B)

Obviously the paperclip method is open to use, but finding the damn chip is a pain to say the least. I only found a 24c256n chip, which sounds right and has 8 legs, but since it is not the standard 24C02W6 chip that gets talked about, I am not even sure if this is the correct one - not to mention which legs need shorting!

So, to the point: with a 595b tag, is the only way to gain a password to short the pins on the EEPROM chip? If so, which legs to short!?

Much love to you all, and I feel i must light some incense in the presence of Rustam_.

Am I right in saying that, other than Rustam_, if you have a 595B tag, you can only bypass the system password with the paperclip? If this is the case, which pins to short? I have a 24c256n eeprom chip, and shorting pins 3 and 5 dont seem to do anything. :-(

Oh poop. I didnt think that threads would be merged also. I have done the trawling, and apart from a small number of very helpful people/posts, most of these threads seem to be: "I am in trouble! help! Here is my tag".

I kind of wanted to do it myself, and so started my own thread. That said, I have posted in that thread anyway, so thanks!

Thanks to all in fact.
