Thinkpad x24 - no floppy - no cd-rom

Ad 02-18-2008, 09:13 PM alidabiri 02-18-2008, 10:32 PM would it boot from this usb cd-rom device? alidabiri 02-18-2008, 10:52 PM dude, in order for a usb device to be recognized by the machine, it has to have an operating system, since usb is not native to bios like floppy. so, without an os, i doubted you can get a machine to boot from a usb device. i may be wrong. alidabiri 02-18-2008, 11:03 PM tuant, thanks for the suggestions. i did have a usb cd-rom drive with double mode (int-ext) i hooked it up. at first try, it didn't boot, but when i tried ext mode, it booted right up. thanks for your help. i guess i was wrong. somehow, the bios recognized it on this machine. thanks again. cheers. |
