Hello tech guys out there!

I need to replace the dc jack for my compaw R4000. I had took everything apart and I just not sure if I can do the soldering to remove and put a new one on the motherboard. If anyone can provide a link or a step by step guide, I would appreciate it.

I need to know if I need to buy a specific soldering and the type of soldering lead. Please help!!

Use standard rosin-core solder for electronics and a 25 watt soldering iron, bot available from Radio Shack. Use static protection when working with motherboards.
