Is This Computer Build Compatible?

Hello All,

First off, I am a gammer. I know a lot about computers, but not ALL about the hardware. I was wondering if you guys could see my new computer build and tell me if it all will work >. I don't want to buy everything and somehow the motherboard wont fit in the case! So please cut me some slack and see if this all will work. Thanks
BTW: I know there is no sound card or harddrive, I already got those.

Thanks for reading!
PS: Suggestions are welcomed.

Ok, Here are my suggestions and I do know things about computers so I hope you listen,
Video Card ABSOLUTELY DESTROYS 7950GT And you can overclock its RAM to 2Ghz like a X1950XTX sometimes

Motherboard (Use this)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813128012
Better/Cheaper PSU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817182032
More OCable Prosessor (Also worth more)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819115013

Good deal on the RAM, and get rid of the network card, the mothrboard has onboard GigEBit

Get this heatsink
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835118003

And overclock to over 3Ghz without breaking a sweat along with that mobo.

Yes the 965P DS3 is a great mobo also I'd second the suggestion by F1N3ST to get the X1950XT it's a lot better than the 7950GT and his suggested PSU looks fine too. Also the E4300 and E6300 perform almost similarly so get the cheaper of the two. But I would recommend this RAM since it has a lower latency and costs only around $6 more. It is worth the extra performance boost though.

First off, Thank you!
F1N3ST I did all of your suggestions, since obviously you like to overclock, I know that you know what your talking about. I just made the order today and thanks to you both, hopefully my computer will be beastly! :) Good day mates!

Stay away form Aspire(Aptiva) and Rosewill. Rosewill is better but you can never be sure what you will get, they are not always the same. FSP is my favorite for PSU's. It's very sad to see the PSU blow a whole rig.

Hmm yeah but the Rosewill seems to be quite good. Has 19A on both +12V rails so it seems pretty beefy for that system.

Rosewill has made it to the avoid list for putting their name on some bad PSUs. The biggest problems is that the same model may be made by more than one manufacture with out any notice in the specs. There are only a few that actually make power supplies, the others just stick their names on them.

Some of these PSU's are dangerous to your system, some are just sub-standard,
however NONE can be recommended, for high performance or over-clocked systems

As long as it has overvoltage protection I wouldnt worry.

I was going to get this If i ever got a good card, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814999001 kinda high but I would do it If i had the money, I suspect it has a fuse in there that blows if it gets too many volts.

Sorry I forgot to tell you but you also NEED arctic silver 5 so your processor will run cooler, It is like an automatic tempature drop of 5C

And I would like to point out thermaltake has GREAT PSU's, especially the toughpower series.

That is a big list though, friend. It's hard to trust that over 20 companies fail at powersupplies...
You have not been around here much. Power supplies are about the number one source of problems around here. There is not 20 companies there, just three or four. You can find the real manufacture of a PSU by searching the UL number at UL's site. IT's not like all PSUs from all theose makers are bad, but it's a gamble that I would not take. It's better to get a proven brand and model, and Rosewill has proven to be troublesome.

There are cheap and good one's in this list too.

Thank you Mirob and Finest,

Mirob I appreciate your concern, but I already placed in the order, hopefully the gamble will come up heads. Finest, do I REALLY need that stuff? And what do I do with it if I get it, I hardly understand what that stuff does?

Yeah, it's just that like if a PSU blows, it could take other parts with it. Not always, but sometimes. The PSU is pretty important as no other components could function w/o it, so it's gotta be good cuz it supports them. If you do get another one, I'd recommend an Antec.

No you dont need the power protector, but the thermal grease would be a good thing for lower tempatures especially if you bought that heatsink. And Rosewill is neweggs part company, it is indeed someone elses PSU, with their sticker on it, but it has overvoltage protection, and great specifications. So do not worry about it, my case PSU is still holding strong with only 18A XION built.

Nah the PSU is a very important component, so skimping on it will have consequences later. That being said, that particular Rosewill model is a popular one and Anandtech has even used it for one of their mid-range PC builds, which seems to make it credible enough. Check it out here.

What are good PSU brands (other than Antec and OCZ)?

This really depends on what you're going to put a power supply into... There are many "good" power supplies in the $30 to $40 price range. I use Antec often, but they are in the $80 range. I just bought a Sparkle 350 watt for $38. It is quiet and has all the cables and specs for a good mid-range computer system

Good (read reliable and safe a.k.a. ones-that-don't-turn-your-computer-into-a-very-expensive-paperweight-when-they-blow!) PSU brands include Thermaltake, CoolerMaster, Enermax, Fortron FSP, Seasonic, PC Power & Cooling, Zalman, Superflower and Nexus. But the above are a bit on the expensive side. Reliable and economically priced PSUs are made by Fortron FSP, CoolerMaster, Enermax, Sparkle, AHANIX, Antec and Rosewill (the latter being Newegg's in-house brand).
