How do you read a minidump?

Hi, I have had several crashes and get a minidump in the Windows folder. When I open these files, they are just gibberish - symbols all over the page with no coherent content.) How do I open them so they are legible? (They will still be gibberish to me, but someone must understand them!)

Well thanks for the welcome - that was nice :)) Also, very many thanks for the info, it worked a treat and gave me exactly what I needed. Also some links to other tools that are free and worth having. Thanks a lot Kitty xx
