Hey i have a acer aspire 3000 i just got it from some relatives but when i turn it on its comes to life but not fully it doesnt have any booting beeps and the screen stays black not even a flash ive tried using linux and stuff but still nothing im desperate to get this working its my first laptop unlike all my desktops lol anyone have any ideas of whats causing it to do this? ive also tried plugging it into another monitor from its external plug and it apears its giving a signal cause its all a black screen as well untill i unplug it then the monitor says no signal and flashes(external monitor) please help me please lol im desperate

I'm just wondering if this is something quite basic. Please try the following:

Remove the Power Adaptor
Remove the Battery
Remove any other external devices (ie USB devices)
Hold down the ON button for 30 seconds
Then put the Power Adaptor in ONLY
Turn on the Power at the wall (just in case!)
Turn on the computer

If that works please reply (to this thread)

AFAIK, somteimes the BIOS ROM flash is broken on this model. and, AFAIK, if you have the model with external videocard(ATI X700) it can be broken too.
