Gigastrand International announces the 2008 Desktop Linux Summit will take place at the Holiday Inn City Center in Downtown Sioux Falls September 8th and 9th 2008. With the theme of "Bringing Linux to the Heartland" the purpose of the summit is to showcase the vibrant Linux community and its resources to business and individuals from the Upper Midwest and across the nation.

"Our committee is thrilled to bring our version of the Desktop Linux Summit to the midwest," explains Drew Meyer, Marketing Director for the event. "We want to show people in the midwest that Linux is a well-supported, cost-effective and viable option for both consumers and businesses. We will provide a venue to educate potential users about all Linux has to offer while providing exhibitors a way to showcase their Linux-based products and services."
