Need some help

ok I just put in a new motherboard to upgrade my old e-machine the new mobo is a p4m900-m4 i'm reading in the manual here and on their site that it can take 4 gb of ram when i installed the ram and cranked it up it only reading 2.43 gb can anyone help?

Xp 32 Bit can't read 4Gig only 3 (and less if video mem being used too)

Xp 64Bit
and Vista will read 4Gig ok

So it's not just the motherboard maximum specs, it's also the OS

Need some help
