New Hard drive not detected

Hi, Im a newbe to this forum and with computers in general. I just put a new SATA hard drive into my computer. I already have a IDE cable hard drive installed which runs the XP operating system. The new hard drive is not being detected, it doesnt show up anywhere. Before I have another temper tantrum, does anyone have any idea what Ive done wrong??????

You likely need to install SATA drivers. What is the model of your PC or motherboard?

Control Panel -> Admin Tools -> Disk Management

Does the drive show up there? If not, do what Zeno said. If so, set up a partition, My Computer won't show an unpartitioned drive.

Thanks for your advice. I shall try it, downloading drivers from Asus, that is and let you know how I go.
