Dell Inspiron graphics card question
Hi, I just purchased a laptop from dell and over much debate forced myself to go with the Inspiron over the XPS laptops. I know it sounds crazy but I got a $1,450 for 1,100 with coupon combinations, etc.
My biggest concern, and my only problem with the laptop is it is running a Intel Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100. I've read reviews on its performance, and well, im very distraught. Me being a gamer I have to have some kind of video performance. IS THERE ANY and i mean ANY way this could be upgraded? Even if it would only take a few hardware component swaps, please tell me that one day I can make this a beast of a laptop. Here are its specs, and the reason why I chose it over the XPS. Im sure you will agree its a great laptop, only lacking in graphics capability (and possibly HDD RPM). -- Inspiron 1520 -- -- Intel® Core蒂 2 Duo T8300 (2.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/3MB cache) -- [223-5726] ------------------- -- Memory -- -- 4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz -- [311-7216] ----------------------- -- LCD Panel -- -- Glossy, widescreen 15.4 inch display (1280x800) -- [320-5460] ----------------------- -- Video Card -- -- Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 -- [320-5457] ----------------------- -- Hard Drive -- -- Size: 320GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM) -- [341-5453] ----------------------- -- Operating System (Office software not included) -- -- Genuine Windows® XP Professional ------ -- Network Card and Modem -- -- Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem -- [430-0493] ----------------------- -- Adobe Software -- -- Adobe® Acrobat® Reader 8.1 -- [420-7468] ----------------------- -- Combo or DVD+RW Drive -- -- CD / DVD writer (DVD+/-RW Drive) -- [313-5197] -- [420-8183] ----------------------- -- Sound Card -- -- High Definition Audio 2.0 -- [313-4783] ----------------------- -- Wireless Networking Cards -- -- Intel Next-Gen Wireless-N Mini-card -- [430-2337] ----------------------- -- Camera -- -- Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam -- [320-5691] -- Anti-Virus/Security Suite (Pre-installed) -- -- McAfee SecurityCenter 15-months -- [410-1183] ----------------------- -- Battery Options -- -- 56Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell) -- [312-0525] -- Doms Camera Module -- -- Jet Black color w/ 2.0M pixel Camera -- [320-5806] ----------------------- |

Well, im kind of asking from the standpoint of a laptop building expert. I know Dell didnt offer me any upgrade options. Of course, they've done that to me many times before.
