Cheap laptop with a decent battery, any suggestions?

Hello,

The weather is getting a lot nicer, and i'm not really a fan of working indoors!

I'm looking for a laptop with a decent battery, and one that I can play some old school games on (Red Alert 2 etc).

Any suggestions would be appriciated, i'm tempted to wait for the new Penryn cpus to become more wideley available as they're very low power!

Also as a thought, i'm getting into Ubuntu and therefore don't really need a preintalled OS. Is there such a thing as a laptop with no OS?

Thanks,

Alex.

Perhaps you could define "cheap". What is your price range?

Hello,

Thanks for the response, i'm looking at the £300-£500 ($600-$1000) range. I would prefer to spend less, but if the laptops perfect then i'm happy to pay up to £500.

Regards,

Alex.
