My Realtek AC97 would not work

I accidentally deleted my Realtek Sound Manager and the Audio Device with it. When I re-downloaded and re-installed the AC97 driver.

My Device Manager says that it is installed properly, but no sound is coming.

I also noticed in the Sounds and Contols in the Control panel that the only device stated to be installed is "Modem#0 Line Playback."

I had XP Service Pack 2 and runs in Intel Pentium 4.

Help could be appreciated.

What is the brand and model of the computer, or the motherboard, or the soundcard.

There is more to RealTex AC'97 than just the driver on many models.

You might get by with Media Player 11, or WinAmp, or ITunes, or Quicktime, or RealPlayer, or ITunes, or others, and you perhaps need one of them to complete this install to make everthing work.

I tried RealPlayer, and I have already Quicktime, iTunes, MP 11 or so, but still no sound.

I checked the Control Panel and the sounds and they worked fine. Also the Device Manager. There is no X or ! mark so they seemed to work.

What could be the culprit?

Wait a second. The AC97 driver I installed has no driver. I cannot install the driver because the Microsoft UAA Driver needs the installation disk for HdAudio.sys. I don't have such disk and can't seem to find the driver. Can anyone figure it out?
