Installed more DDR and system runs slower

I have a abit kv7 mobo with a AMD Sempron 2300+ CPU I removed my KVR400X64C3A/512 ddr and replaced it with 2, 1gb ddr pc3200 400mhz cl3. Now the system seems to be running slower. This is my first attempt at working on my own computer so my knowledge is limited. But, this problem is a good chance for me to learn. Any suggestion? Is there something I should do in BIOS? Does anyone know of any links that might be useful?

well firstly check that you do have 2 gigs sometimes computers don't read the ram but still boot up and check what speed it is through the computer..(i've forgotten the software, everest was good but don't think it's free anymore). if its all good still, take out both rams and then stick just 1 back into the computer, usually the closest to the cpu is fastest and try it that way.

I ran cpu-z and it shows 2048 ddr with a frequency of 201.7mhz, a FSB + 33mhz, (CL) of 3 a (tRCD) of 4, a (tRP) of 4, and a (tRAS) of 8. I don't know what that means but there it is.
