Wireless card for Verizon Fios

Hey - I got Verizon Fios in the house and it is great. The TV is super high def, and MAC in the basement works great and my Inspiron 700m laptop works great wireless. The problem is the kids Dell Dimension 4550. It's also a wireless connection, but it's either not finding a signal when I know its there, or it's hanging. They put a wireless Xylem (?) USB wireless connector in a USB port, but the guy told me I might want to have Windows manage my wireless connection. So I tried to do that, but the Windows wireless manager will not work. It sent me to the Microsoft Knowledge Base and I read and article and did some run prompts but I could not get the Windows wireless manager to take over. So I think I need a new wireless card, which is a pain and all, but how do I find out what one I should buy and install? Any other ideas? thanks. JJ

System specs
Verizon tech support would be the first people you should talk to about this

the explanation you got (imo) reads as if he intended you to do this
Code:
mode---system1----ICS connection---system2
the better approach would be
Code:
modem---router---all your systems
The router wan side MAC would need to be service enabled by Verizon and then
all your devices would only need compatibility to your router.
