Video card upgrade?

I have a 520watt power supply what size can i run with it.
mobo is evga 590sli, do i need two cards or just one?
iwould like to play newer games if i can. my card now is a 8500gt.

one card is good enough.

If you want, your PSU should be able to power a 8800gt. Should be plenty. Anything higher, and your PSU might run into trouble.
 
We'll need to know a bit more about your PSU, take a look at it and you should be able to find a list on it somewhere, usually the side. Look for the 12v rails and find how many amps are on it. Can u see in the pic below where it says +12, and under 20A. That's what we need to know.

While you can use two video cards you don't need two, you can use one.

You are going to want to aim for a 8800 or 9800, so one of these.

8800 GT
8800 GTS
8800 GTX
9800 GTX
8800 Ultra
9800 GX2

i will try to get the amprige for you if i can find the sticker.
my tower is the "Armor" my psu is in verticaly.
i need to pull it out to see sticker.

take a look at desktops my new wallpaper.
 
agreed with them. 8800GT for sure.
If your picky about manufacturer types.
Id say
EVGA is the way to go.
