Hidden Files viewing option not visible

Hi guys.
Pls look at my problem. My hidden file viewing option is not visible. Only the Do not show option is there. Am using an original version of Xp Media center edition 2005 from HCL. Pls view the thumnail below and pls help me.

What happens when you uncheck that button? Try restarting after unchecking it.

nothing bro. no use of restarting. it cant be unchecked also. pls help guys.
