Is the Radeon 4870 meant to be available yet for purchase?

I am ussually on top of the whole GPU arena knowing which is best at certain price points and such.

But I thought that the 4870 wasn't available yet, but then I came accross an Australian retailer selling a 4870 for $399.00 (AUD) with availability marked as "Ships Within 24 Hours"

Is it meant to be available for purchase yet or not?

They might be jumping the gun but retailers jumped the gun on the Radeon 4850 too.

The Radeon 4870 is going to release on the 25th, which is tomorrow. The one on that site looks like the real deal, with its dual-slot cooler and has probably been posted ahead of the launch for marketing or pre-order purposes.

I went and used a search from www.staticice.com (staticice searches loads of Australian retailers for lowest prices on a certain product) for the 4870, there are quite a few retailers selling the 4870 already, although PCManiacs had the lowest price at $399.

Now anyone wanna give me $399 for a new GPU?
