As cd and dvd burning softwares go, I have found the open source program, CDBurnerXP Pro 3 to be very good, reliable, and a lot less weighty than Nero. Only trouble is, I can't remember where to find it. But these are my three favorite sites to find well-written open source software for Windows:
I've been quite pleased with ease of use and performance of NTI for my CD/DVD burning. Is several years old tho and doesn't include (at least version i have) some of the raw image creation functions you can find in Nero or Roxio (tho i've downloaded and used some freeware tools on the occasion when i've needed that type of function.
