Ok, so we recently got wireless internet for a laptop we had gotten, We set the wireless internet up and the computer gives a "Dial-up Connection"

here's it's exact words.

Select the server you want to connect to and then enter your username and password.

Connect to:

Username:

Password:

Connect settings and cancel

Useless I guess but ANYWAYS

I am 100% sure that the wireless internet is working as it says its running on the laptop but when we try to make connections there is not a choice for lan or wireless internet only dial-up, private network,directly thru another computer or broadband, I need some guidance on what to do to get wireless working,

First, use Control Panel (CP) -> Network Connections
find the Dial-up, right-click->delete

now start over like this;
WIRE the system to your router so as to allow you to configure it for wireless connections.

You need the default IP address for the specific Vender/Model router you have
(post back and we can usually help you out)

Once you have the IP address, use it in your browser to access the config page
(you need the admin ID + Password: see your documentation)

now you can set the

1. channel
2. ssid (do not use the default!)
3. leave encryption off temporarily
4. enable the WiFi radio and broadcast the SSID
5. change the Admin Password (and write it down!)
6. save the settings and the device should restart

Your wired connection should still have internet access www.google.com/

Now disconnect the wire and enable your PC WiFi device.
Use the CP-> Wireless Network Wizard to make a new connection

You should now have WiFi Internet access www.google.com/ again
