No Video on monitor
Just bought a whole bunch of new computer parts.
I assembled the whole thing, but have no video from the graphics card. Specs: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66 Ghz Asus P5Q motherboard Nvidia 9800GTX H2OC 2Gb of RAM (I have 2 more, but will save for later) 320Gb Hard-Drive with Windows XP Home installed. 500W power *i installed Windows onto the hard-drive with a different computer So i turn on the power, and it boots up everything is running, but i get nothing to my moniter. since my moniter only has a VGA cable i am using the adapter that came in to box, but that is not the problem because i used an S-video cable to plug it into my T.V but i get nothing. What should i do? |

just as a side note, it is fortunate that it will even boot with the OS loaded on another computer unless they are identical.

*I installed Windows onto the hard-drive with a different computer"...
Unless the "different" computer was identical to the new computer, this method of installing an OS won't work. Do you see anything on the monitor when it is first started? Things like memory count or hard drive detection? This is called a "POST" Power on Self Test |

never mind found the problem.
it just needed some more power to connect to the card, it was not receiving it |

Ah yes, that extra 4-pin power connector that many forget to connect... I never thought the simple PCI video cards needed them
