Sparking PSU

i assume the psu is the power supply at the back of the pc with the fan in it. I had my pc one and wasnt doing anything big, just on messenger, then what i take to be the psu started making sounds as though it was sparking, my pc then cut out. Turning it back on again everything seems fine, has this caused any damage? the psu is 300w bte

System specs
I don't think your PSU making electrical sounds and possibly sparking means all is chipper. Get a new one immediately, or if it's a newer PSU and not worth it to buy another one, send it in for a warranty claim (if you have a warranty).
